Been very quiet here on the blog this week--sorry for the lack of updates and fun stuff. The main reason for that though? I just wrote the final big action sequence for the Indestructibles fourth book. All I have to do is wrap up the final few chapters and resolve the story and it'll be ready to start the editing process. My goal is to have the 4th book out right after the holidays since Book 3 only came out in August. Gotta keep up the pace, right?
(Question: would you be more interested in seeing a book of Indestructibles short stories next focusing on their smaller adventures? Or a spinoff book about an alternate set of heroes? I'm not slowing down, so I want to dive right in to the next project once Book 4 is in the editing process.) Also: who's going to be at Rhode Island Comic Con next weekend? I'll be there all three days. Keep an eye on my Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts all weekend for updates. We'll have copies of all three books on site!

Definitely not the last book! I'm just thinking I'd like to do something different in between, like a spinoff or a group of short stories or something. I have a lot more Indestructibles adventures to write. I kind of want to do something "light" with them before I have their next huge adventure because Book 3 was a little dark and Book 4 is a crazy big space adventure. Want to break things up a little bit.

Funny you should mention that--I'm working on a spinoff book (Book 4 is DEFINITELY the priority though) about two of those characters. It'd be focused on how Atlantis and mythology works in the Indestructibles universe. I'm really excited to start that book once I'm allowed to change focus. Even has a title: "Echo and the Sea."

Big crazy space adventure sounds fantastic and amazing! There should be a bit of caution around those though- another book I read, called Please Don't Tell My Parents I Blew Up The Moon, was a sequel, and the author had taken the huge amazing city built up in the first book and basically abandoned it for a space adventure and it got an awful lot of hate for that, and I would hate to see it happen again. If this sounds a bit whiny or something I'm sorry, but I just love the Indestructibles, (especially Emily and Kate, Kate sort of reminds me of Pearl from Steven universe because of the whole ballet and fighting and stuff and Emily's just FANTASTIC, pardon my nine reference.) and I wouldn't want to see them getting hate.

Book 4 has a space theme, but it's still very centered around saving OUR world, so it's not too far afield from the other stories. All the familiar elements are there. Wouldn't want to disappoint the readers!

also I think a book about the past superheroes would be great, because I think everyone wants to see more of Annie and Doc, and Alley Hawk too, and any other old heroes you can come up with. The superpowers you used for your superheroes are pretty unique, and I'd love to see what you can dream up! (I'm trying to put this as eloquently as possible but alas, I think it's a bit fangirl-ish sorry!)

I've got a whole bunch of shorter stories I want (need, really) to tell about the old team. Doc's early adventures, where Alley Hawk got his start, the whole gang. I'm pretty excited to work on those soon. Actually a bunch of the Doc ones are already written and just need the right venue to publish.
